Eh, I've never been bothered by the weight of a pair of headphones. Used to mix on LCD-X for 8-10 hours a day without issue. I deadlift frequently - got strong traps. That's probably what does it.
I'm a skinny guy, but for some reason heavy headphones never bothered me. What I find annoying are headphones that don't want to stay on your head. Like the Raal SR1a.
+1 to the club that doesn't mind heavy cans, as long as they stay put on your head. Funnily I've got joint issues and am not extremely fit, so you'd think my neck would be dead from the HP-3. Audezes don't seem too bad to me, but maybe I'm just thick-headed
I hear that, extensive demos + having a nice entry-level planar at home for the first time has me leaning into team dynamic, just can't get used to how typical planars do headstage. Also bass impact, but my main cans spoil me there lol.
I'm saying this, make the LCDs more like the LCD2-C. Now that I can wear for hours. I remember the original LCD2s were great for Kraftwerk, but at times their low end was getting on my nerves and my neck was hurting for hours.
