At this point in time it would be fair to assume anyone out "protesting" should be ready to face the consequences, it's no longer a game.

Unfortunately, it goes with the territory. Even as "bystander" at protests or acts of disobedience, I would always expect to get shot with rubber bullets in the eye, getting bean-bagged in the face, or be "accidentally" hit with baseball bat by a rando. Especially given the circumstances where things have been going out of control. Things can go south in a second. I'm older now, so I stay far away from these things.

THX00 pads barely fit around EARS pinna without pressure. Genius design though - cuts the HF zing off the driver's edges vs more open pads.

... at the cost of a weird stage, kind of deep fried crispy plasticy timbre from the pad materials, a consistently opaque coloration. Too bad the pads aren't made with better leather, better foam, etc.

Loads more listenable than any other stock Fostex though. Don't feel the difference in magnet strength as much as I thought I would vs the 900. It's there, but not obvious. 900 just scales farther.

I think so. There's also a difference in engagement factor that is hard to describe. It was more difficult to focus on the music when I was without Lynx for a few months.

Depends on where you are with your gear. If you're not satisfied with the general tone and performance of your DAC, get a better DAC instead. But having the Lynx does mean you'll take better advantage of whatever DAC you end up with - with a better transport than USB. I see it as a further investment in gear I already have.

        E_Schaaf
No noise when plugged into a different amp, which points to the sub amp. But the sub amp creates no noise through the other sub even though I literally drive both subs from the same taps, which points to the sub itself.

In all seriousness, do you have another sub or amp to test with? I'm kind of like that with computers; throw hardware at the problem until it goes away.

I did the toothpick trick with the custom stands on my Maggie 3.6's while I still had them. The holes on the 900 cups (yes they're wood) are a bit too small for that to work though, unless I used a single splinter. Lacquer might be the trick, my first attempt was to wrap the screws in micropore tape to try to thicken them. Unsuccessful lol

Maybe try wood glue. Lightly grease the screw and stick it in the glue. Once the glue dries, the screw should come out and leave threads in the glue. This worked perfectly on a speaker box I made from mdf that had the holes stripped.

The headphones? Yeah, most talk about the bass boom but there was something hard in the treble that made things a bit painful at higher volumes. Love the build and fit, but sound wasn't up my alley.

Weird thing is the bass actually sticks out more audibly as a localized hump than on the TH900s, which is mostly flat in the sub and midbass and then evenly slopes down. First time I heard the Cascades I didn't notice that the bass hump is equally just a scoop in the low mids, which makes them lean and sharp.

Maybe I'm weird but I actually hear stock TH900 bass as pretty well integrated save for the lower mid scoop— can't remember my impressions but I have them on here somewhere, bass was too much even for me, and I use HP-3 without venting.

I don't feel like I'm lacking anything performance-wise from my setup and I don't want to leave the impression that i'm displeased with what i've got. What attracts me to the Super 7 is just that it has tubes and is super configurable and tweakable. I guess I could always just get a bottlehead. I just like to tweak.
