    In 99% of home setups, balanced/SE doesn't make any difference (obviously ignoring implementation in any specific piece of gear). In other words, buy shit that you think sounds good and don't pay too much attention to BAL/SE.

    For amps it kind of depends. For DACs though there seems to always be a positive going balanced. Even if there's a really good SE version, the balanced version is better.
