    Its sound is certainly not for everyone, but if the shoe fits, it's top-tier. And the fact that the tubes aren't $$$$ is a nice bonus.

    You all are killing me with the Autuer comments, I was conflicted and ended up buying a pair of Aeolus but I think now I should have gone with the Autuers. I want to try a set of but it's $$ to try (buy/sell) them.

    @dubharmonic with that headphone, use the balanced drive. It's the only headphone where for some unknown reason it makes a difference. Even Donald doesn't know why this happens.

    The Aeolus are gone, they weren't right for me, I'm more of a HD600 sound profile. I'm looking for something to compliment my Clears and 600/6XXs but I think I went to far to the dark side with the Aeolus. There is nothing wrong with them, just a little outside my profile.

    If you did ever get to try Auteur, try to audition with Universe lambskin and Auteur lambskin. Those are more neutral pads.

    @dubharmonic - If you didn't like HD800/s (or Utopia for that matter) before, you probably still won't like it after. I've heard both on all 3 current DNA amps and still don't like either headphone.

    W/ that being said, all 3 amps synergize very very well with HD800/s. Only slightly less so with Utopia.
