@Aelms WAIT HIGURASHI IS GETTING A REBOOT? Time to hop on Netflix and revisit the trauma, that anime scarred me as a kid cuz I legit didn't know what was coming. Thought it was typical Nichijou/Azumanga stuff going in.
It will start in Oct. Not quite sure how high I can expect though (saw a little mixed reviews of the new director). For the original Studio Dean work, I didn't like the question arc much but loved the answer arc.
Back to the S;G franchise, I really like S;G zero anime, it successfully addressed major drawbacks of the original VN (S;G zero VN was kinda meh to me) and worked as a fantastic finale for the franchise fanboys like me.
Well yeah the lack of resolution for the first half arcs kinda comes with the territory, haha. The sense of escalation between Q & A is part of what I loved about the franchise.
I used to be into VNs but less so lately, and far fewer games in general. Just feel kinda meh about it.
Also I've yet to check out S;G0 so thanks for the tip! Adding it to the list. Original was fine IMO.
RE the director I've not seen much of his work TBH (wow some of these titles are nostalgic), but I didn't entirely hate Zettai Karen Children or Sket Dance so... fingers crossed?
I didn't know much either lol. I can comfortably say his work of Mr Tonegawa was great though, but that's a little different style from When They Cry. The scriptwriter is a very capable guy anyway, so mildly optimistic haha.
