I love the look of speakers from this time. I like the kind of lo-fi colored sound too. Especially with an EQ like loki for some broad adjustments. One time went to a swap meet and left with a pair of old pioneers and fishers. Good times

These actually surprised me big time. Extremely clear sounding. Hard to judge the bass with them sitting on the wood floor with no decoupling, but it was sufficient. Mids and highs were extremely clean and great soundstage. They sounded 200% better on his Sansui 2000X than my Onkyo garage receiver.

Looks a lot like the my dad's first system after we emigrated to Canada when I was a kid. I grew up listening to it ...

Looks lovely. I'm always going on about this: Turntable should not be on top of a heat-producing component.

(Actually, the receiver needs to breathe too: will live longer with better ventilation)

We actually tested last time we had a party at his house, radio was playing 90db+ in that room for 7-8 hours and under the dust cover was room temperature.
