I bought an A1 just before the A2 was released, it didn't ruin my life.

There is one on sale in SBAF for $1600 and it doesn't matter if a newer version comes in market as this is an insane deal if you are in market for it

Curious what made you guess that way. Did you hear some leaks privately? In my view, Yggdrasil is far from its end of product cycle (5 years or a lot more for matured totls)..

@Vtory Nothing really except some guessing mentioned here and there. Nothing trustworthy really. It just the same time span between the A1 and A2, ~3 years. I may go for used ones ;)

A good DAC's a good DAC and a newer DAC doesn't negate the quality of an older one. Singing this to the tune of the 3 90s DACs I use at home.

Considering the difference between A1 and A2, who knows what A3 will even sound like. Might go back to the A1 type sound that some people don’t like.

The next Yggdrasil will likely be a significant overhaul, not just an “A2” type upgrade. Clues already provided on this from Jason/Mike. However when that’s likely to launch is anyone’s guess. If you’re paranoid about potentially losing value too soon, buy used.
