Sad thing about my mum's funeral was not being able to tell her all about it afterwards. She would most of wanted to know what there was to giggle about.
Condolences, Bob. But it is amazing to have had a mum for so long. You must have taken good care of her. I bet she was a good friend <tear>.
Nine years ago I had the good sense to record my mother telling us about her life. During the memorial, the first memory was from my mother in her own voice about her time as an operator for an AT&T center connecting to Wright-Patterson AFB.
My dad passed in January. He was 94 so can't say life isn't fair. I'm actually glad it was pre-COVID so we were able to have hospital visits and a funeral service. Can't even imagine how hard it is for families without those things now, but my heart goes out to all of them.
Condolences, Bob. Happy to hear you captured her story in her own words. I did the same thing with my grandmother early in her dementia, before her passing. I listen to that recording often. Best to you.
@Superexchanger : very wise. Like you I find comfort in hearing stories in my mother's own voice. If I have any regrets it is that I didn't plan additional sessions to capture more.
