It feels too familiar for me. Hill house worked better, but the ending was kinda bleh.

There's a 'dislike train' for Bly Manor? I thought it was excellent, just with a different focus than Hill House.

I agree that Hill House was a better "brown bricks in my britches" horror film, but I actually found the sombre tones and tragedy of Bly to work really damn well. Yeah there's a dislike train, and from what I can tell based on family's reactions it's in part due to, uh, distaste for certain romantic inclinations.

The acting was, generally, not as good as Hill House and I think people who really love "scary" shows were a bit turned off since this wasn't really that kind of a thing. That said, I had a good time with it. I binged through it pretty quickly.

I'm going through X-Files for the third time now. Stuff's aged like fine wine. Can't remember anything nailing sci-fi/horror so hard.

@Hrodulf the Philippines has a massive Catholic population and a lot of them are pretty... old-fashioned. Jaws dropped like atom bombs when the clip was released, but I'm personally happy. Francis is a bro.

@Skyline point taken about the acting, Dani was inexplicably not as engaging as Eleanor and a few of the interactions were a bit cheese. But definitely liked it.
