On a more serious note that could spell some trouble when it comes to small metal particulates. Presuming the ribbon diaphragms won't be as susceptible to damage as flimsy conventional ones but still may end up being detrimental to sound.
^that is a slight concern of mine, but thankfully metallic dust is not a concern in my room. However, definitely keep extra care now to make sure I put them away whenever I decide to mod my PC (little screws everywhere, etc)
Another reason for me not to get an SR1A besides $$$$: if I ever get back into cutting fountain pen nibs my room is gonna be covered in the stuff, haha.
Some local estat people have taken to building "dust-free" enclosures for their gear when not in use, maybe that'll offer some recourse if it ever becomes a problem.
