    There was some magic from the demo I did before I bought them that has been missing since I got them home. I’m borrowing a Pass Int-25 to power them. I knew the AF wouldn’t power them super well, but based on my listening levels I thought it would work to check if I was just being crazy or not

    And while some things suffered, like bass definition and heft, everything else took a massive leap up, staging, separation, detail from the mids up, and most importantly, micro dynamics took a massive leap forward. Now I know that a more power set tube amp is what I need.

    The holy grail - SET with enough power and bass control (damping factor) to drive average sensitivity speakers to satisfaction (at a sane price). Let me know if you find one!

    Im convinced that a 25ish watt 845 amp will do the trick, just gotta find/pick one, im looking at Coincident and Line Magnetic though if anyone has any other recommendations im all ears
