I think it can be fun, but since I value silent computing, I have a solid steel case with added damping hidden away - no point to it. I do have RGB keyboard and mouse and find the slow wave pattern quite soothing and fun.
Lol I just realized the tower placed fairly distant (5-6ft) to the desk and sitting position for acoustic purposes (love inverse-square law), which might make me less sensitive for this matter.
Look, chips can work in the dark. Let it be so. Computers don't need lighting any more than the undersides of cars do. Especially funky lighting. For either.
I have one fan that has a white light: well, it tells me that it is power, I can more easily see it spinning, and know that my hard disks are getting some nice draught. I have never purposely bought lights or a device with lights, for a PC. And never will.
My motherboard and RAM have rgb but I just set them to white. My first computer I built had all blue LED lights, including stripper-heel clear fans. That was pretty much your only option back then. I've also had red themed and green themed PCs, but now I like the neutrality of white.
