    Console > DAC > AMP > 6XX.
Good for gaming. Toslink is fine.
Any console on my desk ends up like this.

If you dont want to save up: get a Koss KSC75; modify it to add dampening; equalise some bass in its FR and done. Should work for gaming and casual music...

@Sqveak i tried to use the GOV2A on the PS4 and it didnt work.. I read about using a USB hub but it didnt work either.

if I use a Mic, then I have to either use the 3.5mm jack without a DAC/amp or have cables running from my head to the console (USB mic).

I always wanted to get the 6xx, and if its decent enough with the console I'll be fine.. I play online casually with friends

@Deep Funk not a bad idea, but the last time i used the KSC75 I didnt enjoy it over a longer period on my ears with my glasses.. I kept fiddling with them

PS4, PS5 and Switch all are stuck in the past with only UAC1 support for USB audio. Compatibility is not guaranteed. I use optical out from my consoles to my DACs.

@JayC Your profile page doesn't list all your gear and your avatar is a turntable, so can't assume anything. Is the GOV2A your only DAC? Does your TV have a line out or headphone jack? If so you can add a small amp to drive the 6XX.

Indeed, I've forgotten to update my page since I had to sell pretty much everything I had in 2018/2019. I'll fill in that space now, so you can see what I've got.

I'm not the biggest headphone guy, I usually go the speaker route and use IEMs when travelling so I'm not really leaning towards buying an amp mainly to run the 6xx from the PS4 (assuming it works ok out of the 3.5mm)

Maybe I change my mind later on about the amp but for now I have the gov2a for desktop use and I just wanted a nice headphone to enjoy working with, and in the evening on the console.

Would you say I'm looking in the wrong direction? your earlier recommendation on the Denon was not working in my budget unfortunately

I was actually going to PM you about that before you bought the Senn. The larger fostex/denon cans sound great and do work out of low power devices... but I had forgotten that they will require an adaptor to use as they are terminated with 6mm plugs. My apologies for the dud advice.

I still stand by the smaller biodynamics as worthwhile options on a budget. Their party trick is sounding larger and more spacious then their cups would suggest. I use mine for handheld gaming but have not tried out of a PS4 controller. The affordable ones are the Creative Aurvana Live! and Massdrop x E-MU Purpleheart.

Are you speakers near your TV? That Modi Multibit of yours is just begging to be hooked up to your console. It takes just one cable! and a loving and understanding missusC.
