I guess they felt they had nothing more to say? I think it is sad they feel they have to top themselves instead of continuing to create.

I suspect they will continue to create on their own. The Beatles broke up in their 20’s and still continue to create!

@rtaylor76 They’re both known perfectionists so they may have felt they went as far as they could go in this configuration. I’d rather they go out on their own terms.

One of them did ride off in the sunset in the video and one felt like he could not go on. I guess that should tell us something.

I will say the Jot 2 balanced out to the FDX1 is the perfect combo for the Daft Punk catalog.

TBH, RAM is the only DP album I own. It was the only one that really excited me. Yes, I have heard the others on Spotifiy. So hearing this today is just kind of disappointing. Oh well.

I doubt the next DP project would have sounded much like RAM anyway, it was such a specific stylistic exercise.

That’s also why I’m okay with RAM being their last album, an homage to the musicians who inspired DP seems like the perfect retrospective send off for the duo.
