It's possibly overplayed in audio circles but this remains one of my all time favourite songs. Love how nuanced the recording is, the aggressive vocals, and of course the gut-wrenching bass solo and subsequent breakdown result in a massive climax. Cathartic when I'm really listening.

Yeah I love Fleetwood Mac I don’t care if it’s cool not to. They created one of my favorite “sounds” in all of music. That crunch. Tusk is better but both so good.

@Imraan your LCD-2’s just seriously rocked that bass line now that they’re modded. Will have to get them to you to listen.

As it happens, I was checking out the loaner Campfire Vega 2020 earlier today and used The Chain as a test track. The bass solo was spot on.

Back when Rumors was new, The Chain was about the only song off the album that didn't get airplay and it was my favorite. The funny thing is that now I actually hear it on the radio. Maybe it got some cult status over the years.

@crazychile ironically my introduction to it was the first few bars of guitar being used as filler music on AM radio broadcasts my grandparents listened to. Also the song was in a Marvel movie— more mainstream than cult now perhaps, sigh.

I love Fleetwood Mac! Got to see them live in Oakland, CA. August 1975. Just after the album Fleetwood Mac came out. It was the first tour with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Fantastic show.

The Chain was used as the music to the BBC's F1 motor racing TV show back in the day, which meant it was almost ruined from being overplayed. Three decades' distance, thankfully, has overcome that.
