Are you leaving it plugged in to charge while you listen? I think it really depends on how the thing is designed. Safest way is to use it how it was expected to be used normally (in other words off the battery charger while playing) unless the manufacturer says it fine to leave it plugged in while playing (exception being Chord mojo, which told people it was fine to leave it plugged in, but it wasn’t).
Again, it depends on the design. Some manufacturers throw shit into their feature set expecting most people won’t use it that way or will only use it rarely, therefore it’s a non issue if a few people have some batteries die prematurely. If the manufacturer is worth its salt however and designed it properly, it will be designed to be reliable in all modes of operation.
