RMA'd my PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter to the factory for repairs. Fingers crossed!

Might need phonostage w/XLR out and ADC (USB to PC). Any recommendations?

Ive only seen cheapo all-in-one solutions (ART USB Phono Plus with RCA outs) or people using a good phono stage into an external sound card. The Parks Puffin will output digital SPDIF via RCA but I cant recommend the sound quality.

I'm going to open up my phonostage and replace the fuse. According to tech support, I need to try that before getting an RMA.

My PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter died. I've reached out to tech support to see what my options, if any, are. 4 mos out of warranty.

I know this is sacrilege, but a half decent rip should sound much the same as the LP playing through the same equipment. And I sometimes prefer my own rips to more recent digital releases, even with clicks and defects.

It has been a grind, but I’m working on my form while running. I think it is paying dividends. Less pain; easier to maintain pace.

I've been running barefoot for the last 10 years after injuring my knees and looking to improve form. I've broken a toe, but that was playing tag with my daughter. Peak at 56km/week and sub 2hr half marathon. I won't go back unless forced to.

@GoodEnoughGear - one of the things I've discovered is that going completely barefoot is actually better then just going minimalist because it really makes you change your form. I wouldn't even consider heel striking on concrete barefoot.

Exactly! I advise anyone looking at barefooting to go full barefoot. Sure, use FiveFingers or whatever for unfriendly and/or hot surfaces when you need to, but going fully barefoot sets limits that prevent overuse injuries and encourages (to put it mildly) proper form.

In my case it sounded sharp and forward, ulcerate was WW2 to my ears. everything calmed down maybe after 120 hours.pi2aes is a little bit better compared to Allo usbridge to unison combo with Stock wallwart. Three days ago i almost bought pi2aes,but maybe it is better to wait for unison out:-) better streamer than usbridge could be on par or better compared to pi2aes.but for now, pi2aes is the best choice

I'm lazy and cheap, so not sure when I'll get around to this. Likely, my laziness will be the defining issue, as $200 isn't TOO painful for a decent upgrade in this hobby.

BF2 with Unison USB is freaking good feeding from Aurender's USB audio. So yeah, it is going to be a good upgrade.

Is there a DAC known for having excellent USB implementation? Must have Gungnir Multibit-like connection options, balanced outs, and Gungnir Multibit-like price.

I have a Gungnir MB A2 as well, but pre Unison. I don't use the USB on it so I have not sent it in for the upgrade, but Unison is supposedly much better than the gen5 cards. My BF2 has Unison and I do use the USB on it. Sounds great to me, but I have no reference to compare with.

It is unfortunate that unlike Yggdrasil and BF1, you can't just swap USB cards yourself. Gungnir has to go back to the mothership for a firmware flash as well, but I hear the turnaround time is pretty quick.

Tube stage is where it’s at. Far better than passive and buffer on OG Freya. Not even close IMO. Freya+ a bit of a different story (far better passive and buffer than OG), and tube mode even better.

Up to my 20ties pretty much every job hunt was facing off against slurs. Hindu roots, flawless Dutch and English and then you look exotic enough to be mistaken for many people. After my C.V. was decent enough I could just give people the polite stare of "don't f**k with me" but I will never forget how I was treated. Many Dutchies like to forget about these things. I am not alone in this, thousands of people...
