Story-wise, although the overall plot was linear and predictable, Ethan's characterization was fantastic. Four lord villains were all multi-dimensional (a little imbalanced in story contribution tho).

But Miranda and Chris.. were rather disappointing. Maybe the upcoming DLC can explain more? IDK.

Speaking of the game design, there are way more types of enemies and most combats need tactical (some even puzzle-like) thoughts. Each area impressed me differently and gave me different kind of fear/tension each time.

Also quite interesting to see I had to revisit the "village" multiple times and various fearful experience created there

I looked it up and the whole time I was thinking - man, this looks fun, but having to move around so slowly all game would really annoy me (it did in RE4 which I really enjoyed). Was it as bad as it looked?

Aside: I would also like to see a game like this but with an entire squad of properly armed guys rolling in (think random BSAA squad or something with tools, demolition gear, and everything else) and just demolishing the place vs "hurr hurr you get a random crappy handgun vs 100 people".

My wife bought a PS5 to play RE Biohazard. We enjoyed some older versions on a borrowed PS3 years ago. Now our TV is so big that playing gave her motion sickness. She sold the PS5.

@penguins I think with the newer engine, and increased moving speed (over RE7), the experience will be a lot better than RE4. But the point is we can't still side step -- we need to choose to either run away wo seeing enemies or take time to aim them. Sometimes it feels like the crux of this genre is to leave enough stress to players lol.

@gixxerwimp Isn't buying her a smaller screen for ps5 only more productive?

We have a smaller screen in the bedroom, but she'd rather not play there and nowhere to put the PS5 (small Asian-size apartment). Better for me as my monopoly over the living room continues ... hehe
