I was about to say that the BH-1 is hardly mid-fi, but I see your second post. You can pick up an older original Mjolnir for much less and similar quality.

OG Mjolnir and BHA-1 are opposites in a way, each other's strengths are the other's weaknesses, but both very good amps.

I did heard the OG Mjolnir with HD800S before and by memory it's also an obvious step up from mid-fi, harder to find locally though. Really love the BHA-1 pairing with HD800S and Gungnir Multibit as source, rock & pop music finally became enjoyable and zero fatigue.
