What don't you like about it?

There's a peak in the mids/uppermids somewhere that bothers me. Treble and bass are great. It's a little bit upfront sounding for me however. Alleviated some with first tube rolls. I guess my brain still wants STARLETT.

I knew this was a speedier amp and not the same sound as DNA but was a sweet deal and I figured why not. Good listening today though, things may change. Another oddity is I like it almost better with HD650 than Aeolus. Will wait for Gen G and more tube rolling.

Thanks for sharing! I find first impressions nearly always hold, but keep us updated. I predict you'll end up with a DNA amp. :)

I actually am not a fan of A&S amps, especially when comparing against DNA stuff.

It's a late OG model so no hum. It's a bit dry tho I guess. I wonder if SE is a tad wetter.

I have a Kenzie Ovation and I find the ZMF headphones do better on the higher impedance tap. I have found that the preamp tube matters. YMMV

It's an ultralinear amp. Will have a fundamentally different sound than DNA which is old school SET

Yep this amp not for me, Going back to Jot 2 with Aeolus is like a breath of fresh air.

Nothing wrong with discovering your tastes and what works best for you. I hope you are able to easily recover the purchase price.

I should be able to, small loss isn't huge deal at least I got a chance to hear it. Sometimes a negative outcome can teach you as much as a positive one. It's like magnius all over again LoL
