I always feel ambivalent whenever seeing end-game items in one hobby are priced lower than entry/budget ones in another hobby.. Mar 22, 2024 at 4:49 PM

M1 ipad pro's mini-led screen was legit. Under normal lighting, it resolves dynamics fantastically. More so than anything I've ever seen.

One philosophical question. What makes Yggdrasil Yggdrasil? The boundary between "new product" and "new flavor" seem very unclear to me.

Yeah, maybe most of us think the same way. Waiting for the loaner tour RD would coordinate a few months later. Moreover, most >4k release price products depreciated down to 2k-ish used eventually. So, crbn would follow the same path I believe.

Thx. Good points. I don't quite get the array part as they copied and pasted from the previous marketing. But they did seem to use new film for the diaphragm which reduced weights from 0.16g to 0.11g for the same surface area.

It's a gorgeous headphone and screams TOTL materials. The issue is that the headphone itself doesn't sound TOTL when I last put ears on them. Add in a 1K increase and there are just so many other headphones that I feel are much better.

You weren't that wrong in that it had only thin memory-foam-ish padding. But quite flexible enough to put extra cushioning stuff. Final result was much more satisfying than HFM HE400SE (which I think cheaper/downgraded ver of 6SEv2's padding)

Stealth indeed is heavier and more inefficient than previous ones. So good chance that they went for better magnet. But doubt if it's 4k-good. Single-sided structure.. well -- I may have a strong prejudice/bias lol.

Probably varies from one field to another, but in Finance and Econ sending an unpolished manuscript to a top journal is just asking for a reject (or even a desk reject from the AE) unless you are already a big name and/or the core of the paper is really something amazing and original

I came to loathe journals that asked authors to recommend reviewers. Made it too easy for editors to send out mss without properly looking at them, and for authors to get agreeable reviews. The time to get friendly reviewers to look at a ms to make sure a) it's finished and b) it's defensible is BEFORE submission for publication!!

AFA legal journals go, the worst offenders were big named authors that the Board invited to submit. It then became the job of the editors to “fix” the manuscript.

tho. Dan's orthos kinda intend to sound like non-ortho. No ortho technicalities (single-sided weak magnet). Cheesy tone. etc. But kinda sound pleasing as I recall (ether flow open, ether 2, aeon flow open). Based on interview, metablahblah is more like sth sdr-ish.. seems to get highs right.
