My kids are a fair bit older (primary school) and when I put on some industrial techno for the first time, they started dancing around like maniacs without any prompting whatsoever.
our jump around at age 5 when we introduced: "Hellooo. this is the Minneapolis police. the party is over. if ya'll just grab your stuff and leave there won't be any hassle." #KidsDontFollow it works to this day.
I'm not sure that musical genre matters. But I'm fairly sure that the young should listen only to acoustic music, and as much of it should be live as possible. One of my grandfathers was a professional cantor. So I grew up singing with my family on sabbath and holidays, both in synagogue and at meals.
