It actually had all the same strengths and problems when plugged into my desktop rig, it just had better technicalities. But the exaggerated shitty treble timbre was still there the exact same way.

Obviously inadequate for developing comprehensive impressions of gear but it's good enough to have a general idea of things. Some exceptions apparently as I demoed an HE-1000 v2 and found it ethereal— trusted ears suggest it kicks dongles when well-amped.

If the treble doesn't kill you first sure. Personally i I think its a great headphone, it just needs to pass a huge check list first. Also I love the ipod I think it is a fun source brings me back to a simpler time.
