For the best possible audio experience? Headphones and IEMs get whatever change is leftover from the speaker setup.

But if we're going to factor in how much time you're going to split between the three systems, that equation will probably change.

On average, $2.5k to speakers, $1k to an integrated amp, $700 to a turntable with decent cart and phono package, $600 for a used BF2, remainder goes to a Vali 2+, some random NOS tubes, and a Porta Pro.

If you’re digital only, splurge on an HD6XX for headphones and add the remainder to speakers and/or integrated amp. If going all analog still get the 6XX but put the remainder into the turntable/cart/phono pre.

3.3K Rockna Wavelight used, that takes care of transport as well, 250$ HD650, 1.4K DIY uber amp, imaginary speakers and Porta Pro from phone. Master of none hasn't worked out great for me, I need to rely on something to tickle the senses.

and while I don’t know enough to spec a system, I imagine I could be satisfied with a high end DAP and a hybrid IEM for right around 5k.

I'd get a used pair of Klipsch Forte or Cornwall and a decent tube integrated. That could be done for between $3000-4000. The rest... maybe a Bifrost 2, a Jotunheim 2, and a pair of HD600. IEM... maybe JVC FDX1. But I'd definitely spend the majority of that sum on 2channel. Transport would be a Pi2AES, an UltraRendu, or a Bluesound Node 2i.
