When I’m sad, I cook. When I’m angry, I clean. When I’m both, the stove ends up full and the fridge ends up empty. Mar 26, 2024 at 6:36 PM

My mom texted earlier tonight from Ames, said it was getting really windy but was still near 70 degrees. We just had the wind move through here in Denver overnight through this morning. Sounds like it's making its way east.

Yeah, I had 75°F and 75mph here in the Ozarks yesterday. Then rain all night.

The storm moved here really fast with minimal damage. We were luckier than many other places this time around. But 40 degrees coming out of the air in just a few hours makes for a very unstable atmosphere.

Shout-out to @bixby for the box full of deep cut vinyl on my doorstep. The last TV I had shipped wasn't packed this well.

Could one of you provide a picture of what properly packed vinyls should look like? I'm guessing it's much more than just putting vinyl in a box with bubble wrap around it.

#1 you want no movement of the lps. Wrap taut or if using a reg. lp box, use cardboard stiffeners on bottom and top of 1-4 lps. If you shake and can feel movement it is not right. Also I use external corner bumpers made of folded carboard.

For larger lots, wrap or brace in a tight box with bubble, foam or something to prevent movement. Then put this box in another box and pack to immobilize via paper, peanuts of whatever you have to do the job. sorry I have no pics.

The day starts seemingly restful and ends with a panic trip to a vet and another euthanized pet. Dour vibes and exhaustion in the house now.

Room acoustics are wild. I distinctly remember when I went from a wide shallow particle board construction desk to a narrow deep pine/metal construction desk the sound of my nearfield setup changed drastically for the better.

I sleep at 65-62 this time of year. Also try melatonin 1 hr. before bed and do 1mg or less. The big doses over do it. I move way less when melatonined. :)

Yea I thought about that. But for the shape it was in, with that cart, and a run through a technician already, I knew it wasn’t going to stay up long at the price.

The stylus is not long for this world, so that’ll be another bit, but I justify it by saying I saved five times the total price by not buying a new 1500C for Christmas.

Audiophile math at its finest, eh?
