Ha! Before the days of zoom, a local cafe used to get the occasional rude tourist doing a video chat on an iPad. They always cranked the volume and raised their voice. The most memorable one was French. She added spite to the mix.
Used to teach over the internet and nothing made me angrier than some asshole using a laptops microphone array rather than a headset. Company I worked for refused to let us kick students out of classes and they would just ruin the whole lesson as noone could hear anything other than themselves talking with a delay and feedback loops. Pure RAGE.
@Raimei Templar I don’t use a headset if I’m in my home office alone and I mute when not talking. I think that’s fine and I have no problem hearing or being heard. It’s just the obliviousness to noise around you and whatnot that is infuriating. Crazy thing is I am in adult education and these ladies were fellow educators who teach remote classes themselves.
