Base storage is definitely trash, but at least it is USB-C (something I did not know had shown up on more recent Apple products). I have dongles aplenty to add temp storage. Just want a good note taking/drawing device that will last several years since I gave up on Samsung Note phones and 2 in 1 laptops.
I just got the latest pro 11” with the M1 and I love it. I use iPad constantly for work, class, fun whatever. I use my Apple Pencil a lot too. Had a 10.5 iPad pro with pencil for 5 years before I got this new one.
This is why I avoided Apple for decades. That said, Samsung is still sticking to 16:10 screens and didn't release a 5G model for the smaller S8 (I don't want anything bigger than 11") as of yet. Might just go cheap with a Samsung S6 lite from Costco so I don't waste money on compromises.
I won Tab A7 in a lucky draw at work, and it definitely feels dumbed down in responsiveness compared to my S10e. Good enuf for casual browsing when I want a larger screen, and consuming media while trapped at my MIL's.
I for one love iPad as a product. I use it for browsing, reading, movie, flipboard, watching family albums. Basically for everything except work. Infact I have started using it with MS Teams to share whiteboard and explain things by Visual means using apple pencil.
Have banished Microsoft and was never even tempted by Apple, but also recognise Android is far from perfect.
The only thing I ever do with music, now, is listen to it, and seldom on a portable device. If I was into making, playing, or even fooling around, with music, it seems it would have to be iPad, /not/ Android. It's a pity it doesn't compete on audio function.
I'm still rocking an older iPad Pro 2016 with 4G. I keep kicking the upgrade can down the road until we have better/actual 5G where we live. I imagine it'll go out of support here soon though.
