Any recommendations for a wireless kvm setup? I decided to start occasionally using the desktop I built as a roon/plex server, and want to easily switch between that and work laptop. Desktop is hidden away due to noise so wireless easier.
I really like my Logitech gear that lets me push a button to switch between 3 different pairings. If you have the software installed, rolling the mouse off one screen will automatically switch it over to the other, and it will bring the keyboard pairing with it too. Connections can be either through the unifying receivers (one single unit can hold several devices) or bluetooth, or some combination of both.
I have a trackball, a full sized mouse, a travel mouse, two keyboards, all paired to a single receiver on my desktop, a receiver on my work laptop, or bluetooth on my personal laptop. It's a single button to swap around any of my configurations.
Hah is that what those buttons are for, I only use my wireless logitech stuff for work, that would actually be useful for work too. I am rarely sharing keyboards etc at home. Still never going to read instructions for m/kbs :p
@Armaegis thanks for the tip, sounds like the way to go. As someone who has used a brown switch mechanical keyboard for a decade now... Will I hate the Logitech Mx keys? Or do they have a wireless mechanical with the 3 device tech I am missing. Appreciate the guidance.
The K780 and MX Keys have their "perfect stroke" mechanism which I actually do like (I have the Craft which is the upscale version of the MX Keys). It doesn't feel the same as Browns, but they are tactile with a decent bump. The K780 will have deeper travel but not the best caps, the MX Keys is slim and feels similar-ish to a Lenovo Thinkpad keyboard. I believe it's a scissor type switch.
