I think they can be great gaming or media-consuming monitors. Not necessarily for developers/programmers who always open codes and documents (lots of non-dynamic elements + needing small font text crispness). Maybe it's just me tho.
Yeah, I would still stear anyone who wants to use an OLED primarily for desktop usage away. I'd only get one primarily for gaming/content consumption

I really wish the Alienware qd-oled monitor wasn't so compromised. always on audible fan, no polarizer, unreasonable processing delay, etc
but I could easily put the 42" oled a foot or foot and a half further away from me than my current 34" ultra wide...I think it would work
I'm with you there - I've had an HDR-capable gpu for a couple of years now but there's no HDR screen worth buying. Although the delay on it is fine, it's >1 frame at 120hz and I'm too old to need more than that.
