Addendum: lacking primary sources, was letting preconceived biases cloud judgement. Still a trash game.

Never judge a game by the plebs echo chamber, just like headphones, you have to try it by yourself. If I listened to them then I would have stopped playing Overwatch a year after its release and would never player Battlefield V (it's considered the worst shooter ever back then).

Gamers now are old and bored, they're blaming the gaming industry for their lack of enthusiasm, they just refuse to accept that they're adults now and video games are just less exciting than before.

I think only really stupid people actually play games like Diablo Immortal and actually spend money, but I guess there are lot of those these days Lol.

@nishan99 I spent no money in Immortal but did give it a shot very briefly. It was ok? I'm more appalled by how it was evidently paywalling the endgame. I'm an old fart but video games are still fun.

Reminds me of Genshin. Loved it for a few months but then all the habit forming pushes and FOMO advertising got to me. Uninstalled. I am aware of my limits hah.

@Cellist88 there's actually a lot to say about how that is a poor perspective primarily for how these are well-funded and painstakingly designed to hit people where it hurts and leech money without regard for well-being. Not so much stupid as it is weak, as is the case in any other addiction, and while sad does deserve some sympathy and help.

I mean it’s worse than slots lol. You don’t have any chance to make any money back. It’s just a bad investment and the gameplay isn’t even that great as you say

@Cellist88 Definitely, and it's even worse with that whole cruddy crypto gambling thing where you don't even have the safety nets of signing up for voluntary exclusion. A lot of the modern "gaming" space is just predatory in an inhuman way, I'm glad for small studios making art pieces.
