I also like long wires to make bendy earhooks to help with fit and taking pressure off the tip and nozzle. But also good if done properly is long heatshrink that has been pre-formed to up over the ear and bend behind the head (following contour). This is a decent middle ground between wire and nothing. Short, tight, bad shrink, however, sucks.
@CEE TEE definitely, and I think Campfire did a great job with the preform on the Super Litz. It's just that my ears seem smaller than most so there's next to no strain relief on them with massively extended loops that get in the way more than aid, haha.
That said, this feels par for the course for them. I distinctly remember them making adjustments to the production Cascade headband after someone here reported the sliders didn't extend enough to fit their head. Exceptional consideration there.
Not sure if you want to risk it but...if you gently hold a hairdryer 8 or so inches away from pre-formed heatshrink, you may be able to re-form/adjust it a bit. I tested this when some IEM cables came in and didn't bend the way I wanted them to. Sometimes the initial bend is more of a "kink" and way too sharp. In your case, maybe you can get a better fit!
Hah, it's on the list of things to do. I don't have other cables with preform at the moment but I'm reasonably comfortable working with things like this. I'll just make sure to play it conservatively
