I'm more of a 600 guy, but I'm just going to say that I still routinely use my JAR 600 even with stuff around like Verite and Utopia. Something about coming back to it is cozy

When I loved my chain so much yesterday, I thought I’d do a reality check with my 650. It’s not THAT far away, so arguably yes. It provides a cozy sweetness the Clear Mg doesn’t have, yes, too. But it’s missing so much of the air and instrument separation that I love so much about my current chain, that in the end, to my relief, it was a definitive no. :)

But then again, that’s not a 650 on a tube amp.

@zottel A (very) good to great tube amp is definitely a key part of the equation. I had written off the 650 for years. But you’re right, instrument separation and staging is not top tier.

    What's the great tube amp?

I agree, though. I havenn't considered a single audio purchase since I landed on the BF2 - SW51 - HD600 chain. I'm not sure if I've hit the 2-year mark with this setup yet, but it's close and I've had no desire to spend another dollar on something other than music.

Yes, essentially hd650 off a sw51+ has beat everything I have heard to this point.
