@Vansen theres no crossover it’s a one driver ortho iem. I flicked the iem 20 ish times and haven’t heard it since. Good old shake the electronics technique.

When I think 'plastic timbre' I imagine a cymbal made out of plastic rather than brass (you guys too, or am I misinterpreting the term?). It's not only in the highs, sure, but I mostly associate it with / attribute it to overly fast decay there. With orthos I'd have guessed it could be fixed at least to some extent by damping mods, but no, eh?

@rhythmdevils Nice I'm looking forward to your impressions, I really like them and will probably upgrade there eventually once I have the budget. Lots of modding potential too with the way the pad system works and its relationship with the air gap.

@Biodegraded I think the unnatural decay theory could have something to it. However, Utopia is very fast but does not have an unnatural timbre, so there must be second or third piece. Perhaps also unnatural attack, and perhaps these characteristics are not the same across the FR.

@penguins one isn’t on SBAF but was clearly a veteran audio guy. The other will be depending on the outcome. I mean SBAF doesn’t condone FF payment so it’s not really up to SBAF to deal with it but there will still be a warning for others. ;)

For real though, @zerodeefex nailed it. While I agree it's bad, it's pretty logical for Jude to block or minimize mention of any other show put on by any possible competitor... especially one where the hosts cover (rising) attendance costs of both attendees and vendors rather than charging everyone to attend.

I have to ask because I'm an idiot when it comes to nuances in text sometimes: is the "forget the Lokius" comment in jest? I have a friend who might be looking for an EQ and could suggest this in lieu of the Schiit unit since it IS appreciably cheaper.

It's a $60 surround sound amp in a project box delivering 50W per channel using Class D amplifier chips that retail for $6. Yes, I'm pretty sure it sounds like hot radioactive garbage that's been pissed on by yak.

It isn't even for me and I've been listing to the setup all night and simply loving it. I don't know how any of it measures. Good times. Love the sound, they will be very happy.

I don’t get wax build up I’ve had my ears examined and they are always clean. I think I just don’t have thick ear wax that builds up I don’t know.

It's difficult to understand sometimes. The only time i had something similar happen to me was because i was having some minor inflammation, because my iem's would (slightly)hurt my cartilage but i kept using them until it actually inflamed and they wouldn't fit. Is it possible to install hooks on this model?

I’m happy with the modded Shuoer S12 now :). And they fit better then any iem I’ve ever owned

@Senorx12562 be sure to try the micropore mod I explained here before giving up on the S12 because they are thin and bright stock.
