I produce too much earwax, so much that if I leave it untreated for a few years, at some point in time one ear becomes more or less sealed. I should go to the ENT physician every year, but I tend to forget, and it becomes more like two years or so.
After all the earwax has been sucked out, there’s suddenly much more treble to hear. :) I wasn’t as deep into the audiophile business when I last went, so I’m curious how music will sound afterwards.
I once thought I'd gone completely deaf in one ear. Went to the doctor who took a syringe to it and out popped something that resembled a malteser in size and colour. The monkey in me wanted to test it out for smell and taste too, but the human prevailed.
It’s amazing what the brain does there, too. Lots of sizzling and fizzling at first, but everything sounds normal again only a few hours later. But I hope I’ll still be able to hear even more micro detail then.
