    The Logitech g335 are on sale right now for $40 at best buy. I tried them in store and they sound pretty good for what they are.

    Yeah, right now he uses my Drop Portapro with the mic but I actually have trouble understanding him when we play together and I was wanting to get him something a bit more immersive as well. Another one I was looking at was the open-back Koss GMR 545. It has an extended detachable boom mic that I thought might be better. Anyone tried them?

    Yea, I assume the over ear one is the same mic in the porta pro headset. Friend had it on for a call and it sounded pretty good.
