Oof, I'm not too familiar with prosumer-level gear anymore. Nvidia no longer makes the Quadro line and IDK what AMD makes at that level. The CPU I'm a little more familiar with; I think AMD still has the raw performance edge but probably won't matter as much for 3D rendering since most of the work will be done via GPU? I might be wrong
I know the basics of what I need, but the system is going to cost about 10x what I build for myself, so I want someone else to be able to provide warranty and service. The quadro line is just RTX now, but with A-nomenclature like A5000, A6000.
I work for Dell (but not in PCs). Despite what some folks say, we support our enterprise customers very well. You can configure a Precision tower with 56 fast cores and triple A6000s, and get a same-day onsite service plan. The pro machines do not suck.
TY. We used Dell for our regular production laptops and desktops and love them. However, as far as I can tell, AMD Threadripper is the way to go for rendering complex scenes and Dell doesn't have workstations with AMD CPUs as options. Still digging around, as our renderer, as talented as he is, doesn't really have a great grasp on the under-the-hood stuff for tech.
