@Cspirou the switch got stuck halfway between, and I'd been experiencing channel balance issues at high gain for months (just needed to jiggle the switch back and forth a bit to re-center the image-- I figured it was either grime or a loose contact therein). I don't want to accidentally snap anything so I'm just leaving it as-is for now. Figure a swap might be the more sustainable option.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think spraying it with contact cleaner and jiggling it will break anything that isn't already broken. So you might as well try that first. Like I don't think anything is going to short out and blow itself up, or suddenly go to 100x gain or something.
@gixxerwimp I doubt it'll act as some sort of magic multiplier yeah, but I've spritzed the thing with WD40 contact cleaner twice over months now to address channel balance issues, but they just returned within days on both occasions. I really wonder whether a speck of grit might have gotten in somehow, or maybe cat hair. No clue.
@Thad E Ginathom I was being flippant, hah. I think the spaces inside the switch aren't so large as to be able to accommodate cat fur, but I could well be wrong.
