Yeah the SB trips me out in that way, only amp I've used with only one driver tube. Feels... wrong coming from something like a Valhalla 2. Not a problem if you're just buying one, though!

Did you fix the SB not powering on with a fuse swap?

Yeah ok you got me there but hey they are not always matched, different size or different placement of nipples, but regardless I agree and better than tubes, sometimes even hotter

You’re not alone. I would take the other half and set it aside as a spare. Or rotate them.

Many audio tubes are dual triode, so in some amps, one side gets hit harder than others. I know in some guitar amps, the other side might not even used.
