They need a Clitorus next. The 650 and share the same 300 ohm resistance. The Aeolus is TPE, should be somewhat similar in timbre. I liked them the last time I had a chance to hear them.
Yes. I prefer the standard solid mesh. The treble is more relaxed and smooth. There is a bit of splashiness I didn't like with the Titan Radial. I'd love to try the stock Atrium mesh on them. Might be a nice middle ground.
I know Zack says there shouldn't be a sound difference but I came to this conclusion with two different sets of Sapele Aeolus.
Thanks. Really really digging the sound of these so far, but the comfort is not the best…not used to something this heavy/awkward . Elex are similar weight I think but don’t feel that way.
It took me a while to find comfort as well. My ear would touch the driver screen and get really irritated. I put a small length of nylon rope under that pad and it gave my ear just enough room. I use that trick on my Atrium as well. Zack said it should have minor or no influence on the sound, and I can't tell any diff.
Also play around with bending the headband for less clamping force and adjusting the pads by twisting them. The pads don't have a lot of room so matching them to your ear can really help.
Comfort for me, from best to worst is as follows...Eikon leathet perf -> Aeolus leather Perf -> Universe leather perf -> uni suede perf.
Apparently I have Eikon perf and Universe Perf. Not sure which is which, but one is very shallow and one is a lot thicker. Pref the thicker ones by far, the other are way too shallow.
Yeah eikon are the deepest that also sound good on Aeolus. I prefer them. Universe were also way too shallow for me. But honestly try slotting a length of paracord underneath the bottom edges of the pad. Helps give you some ear depth.
I actually have a new pair coming from ZMF that are currently lost in the mail. Lol. Ugh....fedex....
