I agree it's totally annoying same spoils the UX. Not worth whatever income it brings in.

I suggest contributing and using an ad blocker. The really bad thing about ads is not that they are annoying, but that the ad providers are following you around all over the internet and record every site you visit, building a profile so exact that it is really frightening. Only partly a joke: Sometimes they know you will soon buy a new car before you realise it yourself.

I use uBlock origin in Firefox on the desktop and AdGuard on iOS. uBlock origin is completely free, AdGuard has some extra features you can pay for, but I don’t need those.
