You may not have a good fit. I initially had channel imbalance on my uerms and had to get them refitted twice before they were perfect. You can test with bass heavy tracks. You should be getting getting the same amount of bass in both ears.

I had channel imbalance on my RE-400 but I suspect it was more because of the potentiometer which is known to have channel imbalance at low volumes. Although this isn't usually an issue with smartphones.

It's your fit, most likely. It went through about 13 refits on my left ear of my JH13. It makes a huge difference. I would test mine with sine wave sweeps.

mono test track should be dead center, and just for grins how do you know your ears are not mismatched. ? Lots of folks are.

I concur with the fit consensus. One thing that I did to see the difference is I used foam tips and let them expand in my ears. When I took them out I saw my left ear canal was larger than the right. But also when I use foam I don't get channel imbalance.

I used to really notice CIEM imbalance with chiptune music I made (simple mono tracks of superpositioned simple waveforms with no other processing), verified by panning a sine wave as mentioned above. Coarse-grained test all in all, but comparing all this with another pair of IEMs would put the difference beyond reasonable doubt.
