Thinking about it, no duh, but I feel power delivery doesn't matter as much for BA IEMs as DD. None of the usual improvements IME. Mar 26, 2024 at 8:17 PM

I have a love/hate relationship with limited edition items; they're usually really cool but the prices on the used market always suck butts.

The whole concept of limited editions is usually a lie. A limited edition is limited to a stated number, and each item may be numbered. If the total number made is is not stated, it is /not/ a limited edition.

I'd say that a great many LEs lean into sophistry taking on the distinction but that's how marketing works, hah.

In this case while the units may not be individually numbered there's a definite scarcity that sucks balls.

Oh yeah that looks like a blown fuse alright. You should be able to read the fuse rating on one of the metal ends (ex: 15A) and go online/to any electronics store to purchase a replacement (they are cheap, unless you want some uber audiophoolery type fuse).

While there may still be an underlying issue with the amp, if you replace the fuse you should be able to get the amp to turn back on at least, and see if it works fine or if the new fuse blows also (get a few fuses, they're a few cents each). With some luck you just had a surge which blew the fuse and replacing it will get the amp back in working order.

In fairness, I think this is one of only two Floor versions of GLS available. Nightwish has IIRC stated that Tarja and Annette material will not see a studio re-recording with Floor. Side note: I've been disappointed by the acoustics on the four live Nightwish shows I've been to — the mixing has been uniformly atrocious, with Floor's and Marco's vocals drowned out. :(

Ahhh, sorry to hear. The live album of their 2013 Wacken performance definitely had sucky balance (made worse by my headphones but shh), which bites because Floor's excellent performance is what has me watching these to begin with.

@Sqveak Sold it at a low-ish price to a lowercase-f friend so I can fund a certain mad genius Russian amp, haha. Having fun at internship but the unpaid part kinda sucks, I thought I'd be cool with the iDSD for long-term while saving up for Beefroast 2 but I was kinda in withdrawal for a bit, lol.

I was always a transducer-and-amp-first person, so I didn't think I'd have as much a reaction using the iDSD as my main as I did, haha. And yeah I figured it might be worth waiting for Unison, but shipping to and from America would have been pricey and I was leaning in towards the Bifrost 2 anyway, if for no other reason than futureproofing.

        Nervosa sucks :(

I'm not caught up yet (Ch.106) but I'm very impressed so far! superb world building and character development, especially for Thorfinn and Canute. Everything just came full circle from the very first chapter and can't wait to see how the story plays out. I remembered your comment "manga is better" so I thought I would share this with ya

I never thought I would love a volleyball anime lol. 4th season is coming out soon so it might be a good time to start watching. Highly recommend watching season 1 then reading the manga. The animation team did a fantastic job portraying the manga. and I'll check out Sound! Euophonium :)

Euphonium helped me get back into band music after losing interest a few years back and going full hard rock and metal, haha. We had a cyclone, the year after the flood. Made a mess of our city; lost many trees. Despite my realistic expectations, we still had our one tall tree, car port, water tanks. I think we got a bit of shelter.

Still, it put on one hell of a show: heavy monsoon-type rain moving sideways in the wind!
