Thinking about it, no duh, but I feel power delivery doesn't matter as much for BA IEMs as DD. None of the usual improvements IME. Mar 26, 2024 at 8:17 PM

The Midnight Gospel on Netflix by Pendleton Ward. Basically Adventure Time art but more R-rated and passing philosophical. Like it so far!

Do you notice any missing resonance now that hair is no longer vibrating? Sound cleaned up?

Your headband won't get cleaned up: nothing else to absorb the sweat now.

Compact size would be another issue for something with enough power to drive inefficient speakers like that. Most compact tube amps are low powered and volume and bass reproduction will be a major problem unless she is nearfield (and even then, bass could be a challenge). Hybrid may be better. Like you said, maybe she should just get on here and ask herself :)

Story is predictable, deals with stuff about Chinese immigrants settling in San Francisco— the weird nuances of under-the-table dealings were familiar. Fight choreography was grand though; moves didn't have the same "impact" you'd get from something more modern, but the movements were nostalgic for the old classics. Hella fun!

Will say that my only reservation recommending it is awareness that I'm fond of cheese and tropes, and also how this film doesn't necessarily portray USMC flatteringly.

I can jokingly call it propaganda, but perhaps that's not too far off. It's got entertaining fights though, and at least takes a stance against inequality.

@Ringingears I would hope that they looked good, there's a reason I know for a fact that undoing the tape will widen the tears, haha.

Could be placebo but bass seems a touch fuller, though it's not a significant difference from before. My only regret is that I'd forgotten to place the shelf liner back in before taping things shut.

Unrelated topic not worth another profile post: listening to music (not the above) when very much over-caffeinated can make it feel like the tempo for every track is set to 0.95x.
