I've got a few headphones around, and didn't see much sense in separate stands. I also don't have or want the real estate on my desk for lots of cans.

I also like to be able to move the headphones around. I accidentally arrived at this solution while quickly cleaning up to have guests over for the holidays.

    I'm going with it.

It's just a simple $25 mic boom stand.

Slide a pool noodle over the ends so you don't get dents in your headband cushioning.

Actually, the more I'm looking into protecting the integrity of the headbands, foam pipe insulation looks like the ticket. I'll look into getting something like 3"-4" diameter.

Huh, along that line I'm thinking foam insulation might be a decent way to keep long cable runs organized. One long piece can be chopped up and used to hold your cables together from amp to speaker or whatever. Or lift the wires off the ground for those who are into that. Or get the foil wrapped insulation in case of aliens.
