If you were to get just 1 upgrade, which would it be?
I use a Soekris 1321, bottlehead Crack and MTCH . In the wings, I have a Modi Multibit, Aune X1S and Teac UD H01 for dacs.
I have a Project Ember with tubes and tube adapters and a Magni 3.
Sources are Jriver on Windows 10 and a raspi with dac502, picoreplater and LMS. A Phillips vintage cd recorder/player with spdif out also sits unused.
And I have a HD650K, HD 58X Jubilee and a HE-4xx with a Verum on the way. JBL LX30x's complete the picture, or the tv with optical completes the picture better.
I have thoughts but wanna hear as many other ideas as I can, so chime in with whatever you want. Dislike free zone, at least from my end.

If you know you like the HD800, then that. If not then if you like your Modi Multibit then definitely the Gungnir Multibit as it’ll remain a long term fixture.

But better than either of those would be a headphone that can be driven well with your current equipment, and will also scale well with better. So based on a mixture of my own listening and others’ writing that means the Focal Clear, or perhaps the ZMF Auteur.

Depends what you want to comprise.
I'm all for a DAC upgrade but you won't hear it to its full potential for a while. Worth upgrading the HD650 cable if stock. When I got the tree of life it took quite a while for my system to catch up.
Amp upgrade will help all your headphones, maybe even for the Verum so best short therm.
Don't go for HD800 unless you have all your gear chosen for it. Crack and HD800 isn't all that great.
Or think of it like this, do you really like your current headphones are want to scale them a bit further or are you looking for something different? Don't buy blind or buy used so you can resell.

So, current headphones will work fine with what I have.
Platinum will give me better performance compared to what I have but likely not much better than my best, Crack/HD650, with an HD800 ,yes, but I'm only getting one item.
Let's see if the Gungnir Multibit is still available.
I'm sorta stuck on getting a HD800, for now at least so the other hp's would be nice but I want to take the Verum through it's paces first.
I'll be offloading quite a few things soon, so maybe the platinum later and then the HD800.
