Almost your 10 year anniversary (congrats!)
Jason mentioned on another thread that there were half a million pieces of Schiit out here in the wild.
But unlike many other legacy audio companies, Schiit does not have a "support" page which lists the specs and features of its gone but not forgotten components.
I.e. What was the dac chip in the original Modi? What was the 50 ohm output of the Asgard 1? So forth and so on....
Why does this matter? Because you have a lot of gear out there in the used market place.
And because,as a history major, I know we can't know where we are going unless we know where we've been.
Yes,labor intensive to compile such a database, but feel free to reach out if you need a keyboard donkey to assist, I've done this sort of labor of love with several other subjects.
    Just a suggestion.

The "Schiit Museum" if you will.

I can't tell you how many times I have used archive.org's Wayback Machine for this very thing.

i think they do have links to legacy products, but they are hidden. I've come across them a couple time.

just making the old PDF manuals available though should be simple enough

That would be like Odin's vault of treasure if they go by their Norse Mythology scheme.

It's a good idea, but I'm afraid I don't really have time to do it. Maybe I can find someone to do it next year, but we do have a lot to do. I'd really reaaaaaallllly rather concentrate on improving current products and ensuring new ones are as perfect as possible.

Do you have PDFs or saved HTML pages (or code?), something of that nature, that you could send to one of us to host here temporarily? Would at least help some part of the community.

I've actually had to try to find info for old products pretty commonly as of late. I agree with everyone else here that it would be incredibly helpful.

If not...Does anyone here have old info stashed away, or may be handy with one of those interweb time machines to grab us some data?

So you can get a lot of the specs using the wayback machine archives, but you can't click in and download the PDFs for manuals or measurements.

    For example:

    2010 pages:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20100620214543/http://schiit.com/products/asgard/
    https://web.archive.org/web/20100621065500/http://schiit.com/products/valhalla/
    2012 pages:
    https://web.archive.org/web/2012050...?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=3

If someone wants the data badly enough they can scrub through site over the years and pull products off it, I guess? It's slow and inconvenient though. And if you wanted data on a specific product, you'd have to know when it was available.

PDFs nope, also old pages nope, many are actually gone, only a handful are turned off in the CMS. Also, with the differences in how we measured things (and portrayed things--I REALLY REALLY don't want the FTC on our butts about "Made in USA," thinking it's a CURRENT claim.) Lots of problems in digging up the old stuff, we really should be moving forward and concentrating on the present and future.

Again, I understand why you want this, and I agree it is a good idea, but it is a months-long project of finding, updating, and curating literally dozens of products. There are no easy shortcuts.

Not sure how useful the old specs would be. Ratings were in voltage peak-to-peak into a Grado type load. People weren't into the watts game yet and the bullshit of this "headamp does 16 watts" (but into what load). Output impedance was a mystery - memba this: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/mer...w-warning-not-good.652910/page-2#post_9205254. No one thought about DAC chips having a sound: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/tho...-just-to-get-you-to-think-about-stuff.693798/. Schiit's "Class A" sound back then was very different than today's Schiit's "Class A" sound today because of the bright peaky headphones popular in them olden days. Also, no one gave a crap about measurements.

A lot of documented information that we get today with Schiit gear either does not exist or is a very different context back then. I mean did, Han shoot first, shoot later, or at the same time?

To clarify, I only really ever needed things like part numbers and topology info. Or to look at board photos. Don't really care about specs or FAQ stuff beyond that.

For example, I was trying to find more tech info on the original Vali, and while I forgot about the coaster in the moment, I had to hunt around to find old info that wasn't for the Vali 2.

Totally fair, though, to focus on the present and future. My "needs" are going to be an extreme outlier. If there's nothing ready to go as-is on the old products, then it's probably not worth the effort at this time.
