He said he wasn’t gonna make that claim on court himself. Rather, he would tell Amir about that dude that criticized him, and advices Amir to take it to court.

They really think he’s some kind of supreme leader that should not be questioned.

Otherwise, why would he want to have him on court for criticism? Reminds me of Nazi’s betraying people to Hitler.

It’s the same minion vs critic vs master mentality.

ASR is becoming the Maury Povich Show of audio reviews, it seems. "SCIENCE".

Weird place. Was browsing the MCTH thread for a few minutes. It's like reading an art book that refuses to use colors to describe paintings.

Yeah I saw this whole thing go down myself. It’s honestly disturbing but definitely was entertaining. It’s obvious the person was trying to control the whole thread and shut down differing opinions and anything that criticizes ASR, Topping, or Amir. He kept using logical fallacies, especially appeal to authority over and over. It’s all part of this growing trend of scientism which is becoming a rot and is hurting science and scientific thought in many ways.

What is especially disturbing on ASR is how this supposedly scientific community instantly dismisses and ridicules any suggestion that there may be things about music reproduction that science has simply not found a way to measure yet. Any supposition that there may be some space for discovery within this field is shut down and laughed at. New members are being told that "it's all in their heads" and if they simply level-match and blind-test transparent equipment, it all sounds the same.

It is a really dogmatic approach which does not serve any productive purpose whatsoever. According to their own "THD is the only thing that matters" motto, we have already reached the perfection of sound reproduction using $99 DACs and amps, so what is the point of further discussion and reviews then? ASR has achieved its nominal goal of bringing affordable transparent gear to the masses, so it can simply shut down. You can't have it both ways.

They don't even follow that credo, because if they did, Amir would not have highly recommended the JBL LSR305 because the plate amp in that thing is "garbage": https://www.superbestaudiofriends.o...audio-science-review-review.9827/#post-316084

I don't care that much that some people so highly value SINAD. I do find it disgusting that principles such as "garbage in - garbage out" are easily tossed aside when inconvenient truths arise: amps that measure like shit in SINAD won't necessary sound bad once the signal comes out of a speaker or headphone.

yes the whole thing is ridiculous because most of those guys obsessed with cheap 0.0000001 amps are plugging headphones into them that are full of resonance and distortion.

this is something that goes beyond ASR though. To the other side of the pool as well where people wax poetic about subtle differences between DACs using Ultrasones or old John Grados or K701’s etc.

To continue the art metaphor it’s like writing reviews about artwork with color tinted sun glasses on.

Pfft. I spit up my morning coffee on my screen!

Yeah, like the guy with the woody AT ATH-W5000 (mid-range weirdness) that got ex-bro-dead by the Topping L30 amplifire. I didn't want to say anything back then because that would be like kicking someone when they are down. But seriously, why bother with a 0.0000001 amplifire if your headphone has massive amounts of linear* distortion.

It's like WTF: so you want to hear that fucked up frequency response more clearly? LMAO!

*Linear distortion is frequency response f'kery.

Amir actually plugged headphones directly into the ODAC line out and said it was distorted.

    Yes it was that thread.

Little brainwashed Nazi minions snitching on people that give critic to their supreme leader, to take them to camp where they can re-educate them on the absolute objective truth of the supreme Amir.
