Apparently only companies that start with "S" were eligible?

It's What Hi-Fi... you can't trust them on anything aside from speaker reviews imo (and even some of those are... questionable). They named the Chord Mojo the dac of the year for 2015.

Yeah I have no idea how those sound, but they are $99 - personally I can't see why sure SE series or some Ultimate ears didn't make the list -maybe it is just for budget earbuds/IEM's?

What Hi Fi is an advertising revenue driven product. It conducts no objective or reproducible tests of reviewed products, it doesn't have a reputation for objectivity and has no credible testers, or even journalists/contributors with any demonstrable expertise, knowledge or credentials.

What Hi Fi awards and reviews are beyond a joke. It doesn't matter how bad a product is, it can get a great review and even an award. Meanwhile good products are sometimes dismissed as mediocre or poor. Sometimes good products seem to be reviewed and dismissed merely in order to divert attention to some other product with less merit. Imo this can only be based on advertising revenue and other unethical relationships and practices between the publisher/journalists and the product distributors.

Anyway does anyone here really care? It would be a little like a lot of good cooks worrying over what people think about Kraft cheese slices.

Ah, that's why I didn't know about this, I avoid the shill sites. I spent 3 minutes in that site, and wrote them off like headphone.guru.
