I just picked up a Beyerdynamic DT250-250 closed for my wife. We had a 20 year old dt250-80 but one channel recently died. She likes these headphones for the fit and isolation, which are both quite good. Obviously she's not an audiophile but she likes the way they sound. I remember people saying Beyer did not have great channel matching and unfortunately that is the case with these. It isn't super noticeable on music even though the imablance is over 3db in some spots. I actually think they sound reasonably balanced with respectable bass presence, accurate timbre and fairly smooth/inoffesive treble. I'd say overall it's a bit of a midrange focused sound, not unlike the HD650, albeit with a little less clarity than the 65 and with less treble for a darker tilt.

I doubt anyone would care much about these but I just wanted to measure them for my own entertainment. They were pretty popular about 20 years ago. They're driven easily enough by laptop/cellphone/motherboard headphone jacks despite the 250 ohm impedance. They'll play 110 db+ straight out of a laptop....

Anyway, here are some measurements. I'm sure better can be had for the ~$200 these go for, but they aren't horrible in my opinion.

Compared to HD650, HD800, Campfire Cascade for reference:
