    We may do that. Not really parts cost, but labor. Some stuff with that board like mounting resistors vertically to keep things compact. Some transistors leads close to each other during testing that we accidentally shorted something and "poof". Just part of the learning process for this one. I'm sure the Copperhead will go much smoother from lessons learned.

    @purrin I recall in the balanced thread you seem to be generally against the idea of balanced input transformers for a much higher cost and yet it seems the BW is going this way. What is it about the amp design that you think it will benefit? I am very, very uneducated in this sphere so if anyone wants to chime in feel free. Im sure theres a perfectly good reason right under my nose. Of course I'm going to try and purchase one regardless.

    Copperhead has been pushed back to 2017.

    Honest question, I have the HDVA600 and had, right before the 100 up for release message, decided to just save up until I can push to a ZDS. Now BW is back on the table, I can easily get a Val 2, sell my HDVA600 and have enough to get the BW in a month tops, is this course of action really worth it? Is it going to blow it so much out of the water? I know the ZDS will be enough of a upgrade, I've heard the ZDSE and ZD originals. BW impressions fit the bill of what I would love to hear but I really don't wanna do side grades or close to side grades. For my main listening I have a modded 650 and modded 800.

    Appreciate any advise on the matter if anyone has any or @purrin.

    If you know will be dedicated to HD600/650/800/800S, then ZDS for sure. @songmic used to own a ZDSE and picked up ZDS. With a good source, ZDS > BW. Deeper staging, more resolving, a lot more slam. BW ~= old ZDSE (better in some ways, worse in others.)

    Balanced Input Option is an extra $300.

    The $1289 price will be honored as long as we have your form. We are making 100 units for this run. We expect production qualifier boards in two to three weeks. The power supply is improved (actually, it's quite a bit different). The amp is smoother up top, but it also gets hotter. The design will be a single chassis 16" wide. (Mysteriously, the Schiit Gungnir also happens to be 16" wide.) We are waiting for the metal guy to get back from holiday break. This is a go.
